After an executive search led by the Chason Group, a joint committee of City of Jasper and Pickens County leaders named Green B. Suttles III president and chief executive officer of the Development Authority of Pickens County.
Pickens County Commissioner Becky Denney, co-chair of the joint committee, says that after searching for a “professional to lead a dynamic, cooperative-minded economic development program for the community,” she is confident that Suttles is the perfect choice.
Suttles brings years of experience in economic development to Pickens County. Throughout his career, he has served in several economic development and business growth positions for organizations such as Mobile Gas Service Corporation, Gulf States Engineering and the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce.
Most recently, he has been operating his own economic development firm, Vibrant Futures Consulting, LLC, in Mobile, Alabama where he worked with rural communities on economic development programs and issues, including target market studies and workforce development.
Suttles believes his experiences in developing the infrastructure for an economic development program and his ability to build relationships with existing companies will serve as a benefit to the community long term.
Suttles’s goal for Grow Pickens is to focus on building the inventory of resources required to put the community on the map in the eyes and minds of those who can bring new projects and investments.
Jasper City Councilman Dr. Sonny Proctor, co-chair of the joint committee believes that this new program is “a win-win-win-win for the City of Jasper, Pickens County, Development Authority and the Pickens County Chamber of Commerce.”
